I often wondered as most people do, about my ancestry, who they were, and where they came from. It seemed I could only find first and last names for my great great grandparents on the Paul side of the family so not much is known about the Paul's and even less about the Shaner's on my mothers side of the family. I received all my grandmother Paul's mail while she was in a nursing home and one day, she received a notice of a reunion of the Hepler Family and information about the Hepler Family History book. The Heplers are on her mothers side of the family (Ida Elizabeth Hepler, D/O Charles Bolich Hepler & Catherine Love Hepler ). Catherine was the daughter of William Love & Elizabeth Love Intrigued by what I might find in the book, I bought it. The book is incredible and thanks to the work of Don Yoder, Avice Morgan and all my other Hepler related families, I've been able to trace that name back to Germany in 1590, something I would have never had the time to do on my own. They have since published the Wagner Family History book. The two books together provide over 2000 pages of the history of those branches of my family tree. The books are treasures that will be passed down to my children. The database that follows is possible only by the hard work of all those people, my relatives, members of my immediate family and wonderful people I have met through the Internet. To all of you, I say "Thank you so much!"

This is all of us, well almost. It doesn't include mom. I assume she took the photo (around 1953/54). It also doesn't include my younger brother Dave. He wasn't born at the time of the photo. Also Grandpop Earl Paul was dead at the time. Dad, Barb and I (I'm the cute little guy!) are on the left side with Grandmother Loretta (Keller) Paul . On the right side of the photo is my dad's only brother William and his family. The photo is an image map. Click on any of us or our names to learn who we are. The Paul's are from Ashland/Lavelle, Schuylkill County, Pa. That's all the Paul family that I know of. I know Earl , my grandfather, Loretta's husband, had brothers and sisters. I know their names, but not much else about them or how to reach that side of the family. Earl Albert Paul's parents were Albert E. Paul and Sevilla Strohecker (shown above). Albert's parents were John Paul and Elizabeth ?. If you think you are related or know of a Paul Reunion in the Ashland/Lavelle area,....please let me (Jack Paul) know!
