Directions to new track

Nightime racing at Phoenixville. Scoring tower built on top of shipping container.
Pictures thanks to Brian Curry.

Yellow light in turn 1 is a 2 element 8" unit on a shortened sidewalk mounting post. Very professional installation.

Close up of turn 3 light. Track is brand new and the lights are not fully wired yet. It is ironic that this track is one of the few that retained the sun shades, but races only in the late evening and night.

Extreem close up of light. Yellow over red. The lights are high-tech LED type. Perhaps a first for quarter midget track.

Daytime view down the front straight showing the track exit and yellow light. Check out the rubber in the racing groove. The white bag has calcium chloride for track maintenance.

Racing surface at the apex of turn 1-2 after a hard night of racing. Note rubber in the racing groove. Rub rail is made from 4" industrial transfer hose. click here for a close up view.

Track exit and turn 1 light.

Paved track entrance. Track wall is fixed, made with plywood covering a 2x2 frame.

Wall is modular allowing a damaged section to be replaced quickly during race night.

Flagger stands at track level.

Paved staging area.

Cars are gridded in staging area and enter the track in their starting position. There is no extra time as the show is 3.5 hours for 100+ cars. Heats and features!

Brand new scoring tower...

... is made on a shipping container. Selecting a prefabricated foundation allowed the club to establish a beach head in the woods to swiftly build the facility.

Tower is complete with deck for judges and air conditioning. It even had flowers adorning the stairway.

Track entrance, hot chute, scale area and acres of level parking on packed gravel. 6 months ago the entire site was woods.

They still have a lot of equipment on site.

Power roller for track maintenance.

Track scraper.

The old Phoenixville track finally gave way to the developer's blade. Click the above link to see a picture from August 2002. All that's left is the scoring tower. The green transformer is on the exit of turn 4. I left this picture off the main page to allow people to avoid the sad view of a closed Quarter Midget Track.

Geting to the new Phoenixville track is easy. From RT 23, head North on Township Line Road. After the 4-way stop sign the track is about 1/8 mile on the right at the Moose Lodge. The only tricky bit is finding Township Line Road.

View from RT 23 West bound. Township line road is just past the small concrete bridge over the French Creek at the autobody sign. Make a right here.

View from RT 23 East bound. Township line road is by the auto body sign. Make a left here.

Track is located in the back of the Moose lodge.
